“Form follows instinct“: this is the motto, inspired by the Modernist Movement (“Form follows function”), with which Ceramica Globo describes its artistic credo.
The main objective of its production base is to break down the barriers that exist between producing objects that are attractive and producing items that are functional. By combining these two approaches to design, which are only apparently opposites,
Ceramica Globo has managed to create innovative products featuring a powerful and unmistakeable identity. Its most recent project, the Relais total bathroom collection, is also highly appealing, thanks to the interaction between different elements which combine being distinctly traditional and technological at the same time. The modern reinterpretation of a classical element is convincing owing to its sober lines, the clarity of the construction and the perfect proportions of the squared silhouettes with rounded corners.
To underscore the beauty and versatility of the ceramic, 6 sizes of the washbasin, the most defining feature of the entire series, have been designed. It comes in sizes 120x53, 100x53, 80x53, 70x53, 60x40 and 60x40 free‐standing. Another special feature is the range of sanitary ware (available in suspended wall‐mounted or floor‐standing versions) whose forms open out more towards the top than in conventional models.
The result recalls the delicacy of the lily and creates stability whilst producing an effect that is pleasing to the eye. The monobloc wall draining wc completes the colelction. The bathtub, made of Pietraluce – a composite material coated with a thick layer of resin which creates a brilliant finish that is hard‐wearing and waterproof‐ and the shower tray with built‐in shower cubicle to ensure the elements of the series are all coordinated, together form an integral part of the range.
The Relais total bathroom collection is rounded off with various furnishing items, a number of floor‐standing elements, mirrors and towel rails.
