SPADESIGN is open to the main trends of the design concerning wellness, and after the success performed during the off- Salon 2009 with his concepts of the “Home Wellness “and “Living the Wellness”, is now presenting “Hosting the Wellness”, a show on the new trends concerning relax spaces in a modern trendy and competitive hotel.

The Exhibition show, organized under the support of Fiera Milano ExpoCts S.p.A. and A.I.P.I. Italian Association Interior Designers, intends to experience a journey through designs, situations, and proposals together with innovative materials, eco-oriented objects, exclusive technologies , which are bond to “wellness” and to the future of the hotel ambiance. The next edition is presenting four new projects ( Moon SPA, Su.it SPA, Low cost SPA, Excess SPA) designed by some of the best designers of the sector: on a displaying area of 600sq.m., “Hosting the Wellness” is the key of the show which gives the perspective of these prestigious architectural studios to interpret their vision of the wellness space inside the hotel..

The formula is renewed with new proposal keeping the force of its concept, centred on the wish to make the audience live the emotions of a real Spa. Also the sector operators will be able to value materials and equipments, design and technical solutions, which will be proposed in an objective manner, while the visitor will be able to walk through a contest reproducing every emotions of a Spa. The lounge and the common spaces of SPA DESIGN are by Alberto Apostoli (www.studioapostoli.it). From the outside, the visitor is stimulated and invited to explore wellness in all its forms. “The flux of a virtual river” tells us Apostoli, “ leads us to explore new continents and state of mind. The evocative spring is the Lounge Spa Bar enriched with primordial elements and stones from which everything is born.

The river take the aspect of a central isle – Reception -, a little green continent which leads to the entry of the entire exhibiting space. Finally, in the river outlet the waters get calm and let the time to human creations free from bonds.

*Carlo Matthey has been promoter of Spa Design 2009 at the off-salon of the Temporary Museum for New Design during the “Salone del Mobile”. It had a great success among the audience and critics: 9.000 were the attendees registered, realized during the 7 days of the exhibition, among professional architects and designers, users strongly interested in the design of a wellness home, and finally more than 400 accredited journalists. Matthey has been cooperating for long with Fieramilano Expocts as project manager of Wellness Spa & Beauty, a leader event on wellness in Italy; he has also created fair events on all national territory such as Aestetica in Naples and Les Spa in Rome.

On the background of a unique set design, a new wellness world is settling beyond the conventional concepts of age, space and reality, to give voice to emotions and colours: letters and water pictures dropping from the ceiling, back-projected water walls, water beds hanging in the fog, invisible water drainage systems, soft walls and floors, are some of the choices made possible by the use of an advanced and impalpable technology which leads the host an extraordinary dimension. And further, hydro-relax pools, bio-sauna, sensory showers, Kinesis and running-tracks, innovative products confronting each other in an exhibiting synergy surrounded by sounds, colours and images….
