At this year's Cersaie 2009, Villeroy & Boch Fliesen GmbH will be presenting new collections that will convey the brand's own unique character. Also, two successful existing lines have also been expanded upon: new variations to the designs in the BiancoNero line have been added along with a novel wall concept and a new colour for Ivoire.
BiancoNero is a modular wall and flooring system focused on creating innovative surface textures and reinterpreting the enduring black-and-white optic in ceramics. New is the three-dimensional effect of the colour-on-colour design of graffiti available in black or white. The softly flowing shapes of the graphic motif are reminiscent of graffiti or the lead casings used in antique windows. The decor can be applied to walls both horizontally and vertically: the resulting interplay on breadth and depth can provide simple modern or classically staged spaces with a completely new feel.
The fine stoneware tile in the Ivoire collection possesses a high-quality stoneware structure in shades of cream-white-grey that make it a perfect starting point for contemporary concepts in living and bathroom spaces. Inspired by the heritage style, this newly created wall concept has been reinterpreted for our times in the colours of ivory and beige. A distinct technical feature of Ivoire: this marks the first time fine stoneware has been decorated. The result is a design tile with a slight relief and a motif of creeping plants, confined to a tone-on-tone effect with a gentle shimmer that, when used throughout a space, creates a harmonious ambience. Silver/bronze coloured bordering, with tactile flowery tendrils evoking an interaction of light and shadow, accents the wall and gives it depth. The pedestal and the crown moulding, designed to be flat and wide on top, both display a contemporary used-silver look. The moulding rounds off the total experience a stylishly designed space can offer, and is also reminiscent of stucco. This wall concept is complemented by a red-violet glass trim.
