L’ITALIAN DESIGN ATTITUDE
At Mosaico+, research and design are inextricably linked; the one-off encounter between Giugiaro Design and the world of mosaic has generated ideas, inspirations and perspectives for original projects born from the union of threedimensionality, technology and industrial design. A completely pure point of view, free from the classical approach to the world of coverings, a first time that was always going to produce truly astonishing results: agile yet restrained, refined textures express the energy of contemporary home design, different surfaces give motion to natural light using the mosaic chip as basic component.
Dialoghi
Mosaico+ is a strong believer in customisation and prioritises the potential for modular combinations in all its collections. So Dialoghi, the collection designed by Francesco Lucchese that combines a variety of materials, can now become the key feature in personalised design schemes.
Choosing between the materials, the varieties of types of wood and natural stones, and the different chip pattern layouts, leads architects and designers to create their own mosaic, expressing a strong, contemporary concept of luxury: customisation is the key to a unique, exclusive covering. This makes it possible to find the right shades of wood and to match the furnishings or the background coverings, or the vibrations of a key colour.
For its Dialoghi collection, Mosaico+ has used the choicest raw materials and genuinely Italian high-tech production processes. The fine wood chips come from slats cut directly from logs that are then dried, stabilised and finally treated with a special varnish that gives them outstanding resistance to chemicals and abrasion and makes them suitable for use in bathrooms on walls over which water runs; the stone chips are carved after the natural raw stone has been prepared and perfected using a traditional, all-Italian process.

At Cersaie 2010, creativity reaches its peak in Vetrina. The small chip collection reveals its astonishing eclecticism once again: from the poetry-steeped photographic realism of the last edition to the dynamic illusions of kinetic art in this year’s ideas. The duplication of the triangular shape in dizzying trajectories of colour shifts and modifies the onlooker’s perception of space.

Area25
Density, solidity and brightness. The Area25 collection is the closest thing to pure colour. In ancient times, objects’ colour and people’s perception of them were thought to be one and the same, so the history of colour is also the history of the space around us. Glass chips transform the abstract concept of colour into solid mosaic surfaces, to provide floor or wall coverings for any interior design scheme. The Area25 collection shares the same colours as the other Mosaico+ products. Area25 is manufactured using a low-consumption, innovative-technology production process that creates a sustainable, environment-friendly product. The sintered glass chips are obtained by grinding and hot-pressing powdered glass from waste and recycled products. This regeneration process creates an extremely strong material, suitable for use in contexts with heavy foot traffic but with all the sophistication and poetry of glass mosaic.
